Charter at Withington Hospital

Withington entranceManchester GP Endoscopy Service operates from Withingon Community Hospital. The hospital opened in 2005 and provides state-of-the art day case surgery and diagnostics in the "Diagnostic and Treatment Centre" on the first floor . There are excellent facilities including large car-park, refreshments, a pharmacy and a multitude of medical sevices.

 

Charter Medical Services provide the upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy service at Withingon having transfered there from Burnage Healthcare Centre after 9 years of operation. We have completed more than 15,000 endoscopy tests for patients.

 

We are proud to be the first Community endoscopy service in the country to be JAG accredited, our staff and the unit were "highly commended".

 

Currently Manchester, Stockport and Tameside GPs can refer, other PCTs and commissioners are encouraged to contact us. There is no waiting list - appointments are made within 2 weeks, and can be on a day and time suitable for the patient.

 

Patients are contacted directly with instructions and can phone to change appointments. Reports are sent to the GP the same day. We operate Choose and Book, or GPs can refer directly to the Burnage Office.
